Epacta elected NPC President

Negros Weekly news editor Dolores Epacta is the newly elected President of the Negros Press Club with a vote of 49 as against her challengers DYAF achorman Aquilino “Boy” Ciocon with 35 votes and Negros Daily Bulletin Columnist Manuel “Manny” Canto with 22 votes in an election held last Saturday, (Jan. 24, 2015) at the NPC building, San Juan Street, Bacolod City.

Epacta will succeed outgoing President Carla N. Canet whose term of office will expire on Feburary 28, 2015.

Visayan Daily Star reporter Chrysee Samillano retained her post as Vice President garnering 70 votes as against her challenger broadcaster Alladin Salas with 28 votes.

GMA TV reporter and NPC Secretary Stephanie Azucena Tarre was re elected to her post garnering 55 votes as against challenger DYAF anchor Chito Berjit with 31 votes.

Henceboy Cestina ran unopposed with 60 votes. NPC Director Mae Singuay was elected as the new Treasurer, still unopposed with 57 votes.

The new Board of Directors are ABS-CBN reporter Mark Salanga with 76 votes; Negros Daily Bulletin sports writer and editor Henry James Toga was re elected with 67 votes; Visayan Daily Star.

Hernan Garciniego, re elected with 63 votes; Watchmen Daily Journal Editor and Aksyon Radyo anchor Elmer Ubaldo and Daily Guardian Dolly Yasa reached a tie with 62 votes each with 62; DYRL anchor

Babes Gantalao has 58 votes; RMN DYHB anchor Jose Lizael “Nonoy” Lampines got 54 votes; Negros Daily Bulletin lifestyle writer Elsie Jolingan got 52 votes and DYAF anchorman was re-elected with 50 votes.

The newly elected NPC Membership Committee is composed of Visayan Daily Star columnist Mr. Modesto Sa-onoy; DYRL anchorman Edgar Cadagat, DYRL Production Manager Edgar Lucasan and GMA TV reporter Erwin Nicavera.
