A Night to Remember, 16 Media Practitioners Get Recognition Awards

It was one of the Most Memorable gathering for media practitioners who are members of the Negros Press Club (NPC), known as the oldest press club in the Philippines, having been organized way back in 1936, five years before the outbreak of the second world war in 1941.

NPC, RCBE to Present Awards to Deserving Media Practitioners

The Negros Press Club (NPC) and the Rotary Club of Bacolod East (RCBE) will hold their 3rd Media Excellence and Lifetime Achievement Award ceremonies tomorrow, starting 7:00 P.M. October 15, 2016 at the Provincial Capitol Social Hall.

The NPC, founded in 1936, considered the oldest press club in the Philippines headed by its president, Teresa D. Ellera has been recognizing local media practitioners who excel in the field of journalism (print and broadcast), will present this year’s Media Excellence award, while RCBE, one of the most active Rotary Clubs in the city headed by its Past President and Bacolod City Councilor Sonya Verdeflor will present the Media Lifetime Achievement Award.

NPC, RCBE Ready for 3rd Media Awards Set Oct. 15

The Negros Press Club (NPC) and Rotary Club of Bacolod East (RCBE) started its preparation for the 3rd Media Excellence and Media Lifetime Achieve-ment awards set on October 15 at the Social Hall, Provincial Capitol Building, Gatuslao Street, Bacolod City.

NPC Availed Kasanag Medical Services

Last Saturday, the members of the Negros Press Club were recipients of the medical services of Kasanag Foundation Inc. With the cooperation of the Philippine Army, its Civilian Military Operations group, the medical mission was a success. Members of the media were able to undergo medical examinations to include Fasting Blood Sugar testing, Blood Pressure identification. Experienced Medical Doctors headed by Dr. Francis Balzomo who is running for City Councilor of Bacolod City rendered their services for free. Free medicines were given to patients, to include the family of media practitioners. Aside from free medicines plus free reading eyeglasses.

MEDICAL SERVICE FOR PRESS PEOPLE. Negros Press Club President Teresa Ellera (center) and John Chiong, chairman of civil society group Kasanag, Inc., (2nd from right) yesterday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the NPC office as partners in bringing health services to club members and their families. Kasanag will conduct medical services on April 23, Saturday at the NPC office.
