NPC, KBP Split Results in Media Fellowship Games

Negros Press Club 40-Under basketball squad and Kapisanan ng mga Brodkaster sa Pilipinas Negros Occidental Chapter Men’s volleyball teams secure respective wins during the 2017 KBP-NPC Fellowship Games 1st Leg held at STI-WNU Gymnasium on Saturday.

NPC defeated KBP by 7 points in 40U basketball, 53-46.

Team captain Nico Delfin and sharp shooter Ruel Bangoy led the scoring cudgels for NPC with 11 pts apiece, while Mark Salanga scored 23 markers for KBP.

NPC players chipping in for the win are Junar Torata with 8, James Toga with 6, Mymy Alagaban & Andy Dela Cruz with 4 each, Judery Veliganio with 3, and Leo Burdeos, Alein Carlo Gazo & Ish Faicol with 2 apiece.

Mark Octoso and Martian Muyco also played for the winning squad.

In the 40&Up, Armando Espina scored 29 for KBP squad enough to secure the win against NPC’s best players Anthony Toga and Chito Berjit who scored 20 & 14 for each.

Playing for KBP are Edward D - 10, Stanley Jordan - 9, Alvarado - 7, Bagonoc - 4, James Soquiña - 2, and Bogart Carmona - 2.

Other players include Luzart Mendoza, Sherwin, Cato Sese, and Jeony Bigay.

In volleyball games, NPC Women’s team won in 2 sets out of 3 against KBP - 15-25, 25-10, 25-22; while KBP dominted NPC in the Men’s division in 3 straight sets - 25-21, 25-17, 25-17.

This media bowling tournament is supported by the Office of Bacolod City Lone District Representive Greg Gasataya, Mayor Bing Leonardia, Councilor Jun Gamboa, DRRMO-Bacolod OIC Dondon Parandas, 3rd District Representative Albee Benitez, Dr Ramel Uy, and Leo Vision.

The fellowship games are organized by the officers of NPC headed by Mr Renato Duran with Mr James Toga as chairman of the sports committee and KBP-Negros Occidental Chapter chairman Serafin Plotria, Jr.*
