Visayas Assistant Dino to Keynote NPC Induction on April 8

Secretary Michael Lloyd “Mike” Dino, the Presidential Assistant for the Visayas will be the guest of honor and speaker during the 81st induction ceremony of Negros Press Club on April 8, 2017 at the SMX Convention Center at 6:30 p.m.

Dino is the chairman of Art Tabang, an organization that helps virtual artists in the country to flourish in their unique, creative God-given talents.

He is also the chairman of MUGSTORIA, a virtual rendezvous of social media storytellers, which has been very active in documenting the life story of President Rodrigo Duterte.

Dino, married to the former Kristine Marie Uytengso, is the founder of Bisaya na pud movement, a movement that became a game-changer in Philippine politics.

NPC is the oldest press club in the country, founded in 1936 with about 150 active members from the print, radio and television outlets in the province of Negros Occidental.

This year’s theme is “Responsible Media: Critical Partner in Nation Building”.

Set to be inducted into office are Renato Duran-President, Rico Gantalao-Vice President, Erwin Nicavera-Secretary, Shiela Gelera-Treasurer, Eugene Adiong-Auditor.

Members of the Board are Chrysee Samillano, Jemlo Victosa, Glazyl Masculino, Martian Muyco, James Toga, Aquilino Ciocon, Elsie Jolingan, Dolly Yasa, Edgar Lucasan and Teresa Ellera-ex-officio.

Duran is a veteran newscaster and anchorman of Aksyon Radyo Bacolod.

He said that his flagship program for this year is to establish a health assistance program for the members.

Silay City Mayor Mark Golez already turned over P100,000.00 as seed money for the program.

Duran together with the new set of officers for this year held a one-day action planning session at the Buenos Aires resort in Barangay Ma-ao, Bago City where they laid down the projects and programs of the club for this year.

Among these are seminars for the professional advancement of the members, medical mission that will include a blood letting activity as well as the usual sports fest and other social activities of the club.*
